The Chattogram Divisional Office of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) is going to get two executive magistrates after 18 months.
Confirming matter to Banglanews on Sunday (August 26), BRTA’s acting chairman Nur Mohammad Majumder said: “An office order has been issued from BRTA office at noon.”
“Two Executive Magistrates have been posted in BRTA’s Chittagong Divisional Office. Magistrate Manjurul Haque and Magistrate Ziaul Mir will join office on Monday (August 27),” he said.
“We are making efforts to bring another Executive Magistrate, said Mohammad Shahidullah, Deputy Director (Engineer) of BRTA’s Chittagong Divisional office.
“Now, order will be restored to roads. Earlier, it was difficult to launch drives against unfit vehicles and drivers without license,” Mohammad Shahidullah added.
Earlier, Banglanews uploaded a report titled ‘Chittagong BRTA functions without Magistrate’ on August 12. Within 14 days of the report, BRTA appoints new magistrates there.
