Hosne Ara Parvin, one of the Bangladeshis deceased in New Zealand mosque shootings, fell victim to the attack when she rushed to save her wheelchair-bound paralyzed husband inside the mosque on Friday (March 15).

42-yearold Hosne Ara Parvin was the daughter of Nuruddin from Jangalhata village under Golapganj upazila of Sylhet. She was, among three sisters and two brothers, the eldest of the siblings.

However, her husband Farid Ahmed is from Mirer Chawk village of Biswanath Upazila of the same district.

Farid Ahmed was on the male section of the mosque to offer Friday’s Juma prayers at the mosque while Parvin on the female section.

Having heard gunshots, Parvin ran to the male section of the mosque to see her defenseless husband, but in vain. Farid Ahmed somehow managed to escape the attack, a relative of the deceased said.

Hosne Ara Parvin and Farid Ahmed got married 1992. They migrated to New Zealand in 1994. They last came to Bangladesh in 2009.

Hosne Ara Parvin has left behind a 17-year-old daughter named Shipa Ahmed to mourn her death.

New Zealand police has not handed over the body yet. But, she will be buried there, the relative added.

On Internatonal Women’s Day

The mankind will not exist if there is no woman on this planet .Nature gave this power to woman to carry the source of existence. In today’s world even there are lots of awareness and activities to protect the rights of women there are still many evidence of discrimination and abuse for women . Women are still facing difficulties to live a decent and happy life . The physical or gender differences should not matter , what is most important is that we are all human being and Humanity is above all .
