Our program today features our Club’s own Farah Mazid Saddha, sharing Books for Peace & Divinity. Farah is an entrepreneur, activist (UNGC, WEP), author, journalist and an engineer. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University and an M.B.A. from the University of Dallas. She is currently pursuing a PhD degree from Walden University.

Farah joined Motorola in Dallas, TX as an RF Engineer, and later Nokia Inc. as a System Engineer, then headed to the City of Fort Worth as a business planner. Her global business venture Baldha Group is a group of companies associated with garments, agriculture, telecom, real estate, media and journalism. One of those companies is The Kaler Jatra, a new generation multimedia global news portal disseminating round-the-clock news from a highly interactive platform. She has also established a nonprofit organization ANDRA (Association for Nutritional Development and Rural Advancement). Her organizations are Signatory and Global participants of the United Nations Global Compact and Women Empowerment principles to support human, environmental, labor and anti-corruption rights of the UN.

Her first book, Princess of The Tide, was published in the United States in 2006; since then she has published four other books: Belong to the World, The Global Rose, Let Her Fly and Journey of the Spirit. Her passion is to learn many languages including Spanish, Chinese Hawaiian, Arabic and to perform Middle eastern and Hawaiian dances. Her dance album, “Dancing Is Like A Poem,” contains Hawaiian and Middle Eastern dance. Her music album, “Music For Peace and Harmony,” contains songs from her poem. Her Mantra is this: “Being your friend, mother, sister and well-wisher, I want to leave the last breath of my life.”

One of her websites describes her this way: “A dynamic author, entrepreneur, journalist, and humanist of Bangladeshi-American heritage.” This, my Rotary friends, is a perfect example of a Renaissance woman – wow!!
