Internets users are likely to experience the data speed somewhat slow than the regular speed for the next one week, due to a repeater installation of Bangladesh’s first ever submarine in Cox’s Bazar.
Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Ltd (BSCCL) Managing Director Moshiur Rahman confirmed the matter to Banglanews Tuesday (May 7).
The installation of the third repeater at Cox’s Bazar landing station was rescheduled to May 8 due to the cyclonic storm Fani.
Therefore, the terminated circuits at the landing station will remain off for next 6/7 days, said Moshiur Rahman.
Meanwhile, International Gateway (IGW) operators and International Internet Gateway (IIG) operators have been directed to keep international circuit active through keeping contact with BSCCL authorities, he added.
BSCCL authorities, however, have regretted the possible discomfort of the internet users.
